How are Liquid Minerals Produced?

Others promote "Chelated Minerals" that use a chemical process of bonding an amino acid to a mineral, to enable the body to better absorb an "Inorganic" mineral?
Another chelating method is to take the oxide of an element (e.g. The oxide of iron is rust!) and put it in a stainless steel container and use hydrochloric acid to break it down. After the acid has evaporated, the remaining residue is considered to be chelated? (Better to put the rust into the soil and grow plants in it and then eat the plants to get the iron!)
